Muscle Imbalances
We use some muscles to much & others to little. Tight muscles will pull your bones and joints slightly out of their normal position, if the opposing muscles are weak they do not have the strength to counter act this action. Most people have more than one muscle imbalance.
Our bodies will compensate for these imbalances, so initially there may be little or no pain indicators, or pain may come and go. If we continually ignore our body's signals of periodic pain, gradually the pain worsens and recovery is prolonged each time. Eventually (especially as we age) these imbalances develop into conditions such as 'buldging or herniated disc', frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tear's, sciatica or other conditions. NOTE: The 'condition' is actually NOT always the CAUSE of your pain. The muscle imbalances are the underlying cause, and still need to be addressed.
How can we help?
Did you know that while you may feel pain in your back, the actual cause of the pain could be the front of your thighs? Through training we are taught to notice subtle indications, by the way you walk, stand, sit and get up from a chair etc. Assessment for common muscle imbalances are done throughout a treatment with your Perpetual Movement therapist and each treatment address’s the whole body. By relaxing tight /overused muscles in turn allows bone, ligaments, tendons or joints to slip back into alignment by themselves without painful manipulation. Over-stretched muscles contract back to their normal length helping to regain normal posture.
These natural health therapies allow your body to make these corrections in its own time, and in its own unique way.
