Emotional Freedom Technique was introduced, following another mind-body method called Thought Field Therapy, developed by Dr. Roger Callahan, a clinical psychologist, who found that it helped people naturally manage symptoms of anxiety, phobias and physical problems related to stress.
Gary Craig, one the lead creators of Emotional Freedom Technique, was one of Dr. Callahan’s students who further researched and refined TFT techniques. He basically simplified the algorithms to make it more accessible for everyone to use, not just practitioners.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a self-help technique that involves tapping near the end points of “energy meridians” located around the body in order to reduce tension and promote a deeper mind-body connection.
Tapping focuses on resolving physical ailments by altering energy systems in the body, while also bringing attention to thought processes that contribute to stress and emotional problems.

How I use EFT or TFT
I believe this technique should be taught and accessible to everyone.
I have taught it to my kids and I use it myself. Essentially it is my go to modality if I’m nervous, stressed, panicked, upset, angry … you name it. I use this technique to lessen the effects of any emotional disturbances.
I often inform people of this technique if they are suffering from anxiety or other emotional disturbances or if you have a child that you would like to teach or help in some way. My aim is to guide you through a sequence of tapping algorithms not only to help you start to resolve any disturbances you may have but also to show you how easy it is to use for yourself.
This treatment service can be done over Telehealth or in conjunction with other treatment services. Usually one session is enough to have you comfortable with the sequences and I'll give you a work sheet, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting. You should also feel a change in how your feeling after this session, but I encourage you to continue working on whatever you need to for yourself.
If your emotions are intense and you would like my support I’m happy to work with you for as long as you feel you need my help. Depending on your symptoms I may do some bodywork as well as some sessions of EFT.
