What is Kinesio Taping

Kinesio taping technique is a therapeutic taping method that allows treatment for all types of clinical conditions. It has been proven to have positive physiological effects on the skin, lymphatic and circulatory system, fascia, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. Benefits of taping are so extensive and so varied, it has earned the nickname “magic tape” and has become one of the most widely-used therapeutic modalities in both athletic and healthcare settings.

When the tape is applied correctly, it can help take pressure off overused muscles, reduce swelling and alleviate pain from injuries by lifting the skin to create a small space between the muscle and dermis layers. That space takes the pressure off swelling or injured muscles, allows smooth muscle movement and makes space for drainage and blood flow.

It can be used in conjunction with a multitude of other treatments and modalities and is effective during the rehabilitative and chronic phases on an injury as well as being used for preventative measures as it allows range of motion to muscles and joints.

The main features that make it unique are mostly that it can be worn around the clock for several days without any side effects, most people can learn to apply it themselves, which can save you a lot of time, money and therapy.  I will teach you how to apply this yourself if necessary.

The application of the tapping benefits:

  • assists normal circulation/lymphatic flow, reducing swelling and or inflammation

  • Supports muscle without limiting range of motion

  • remodeling of facial tissue

  • can improve joint balance

  • accelerated recover from overused muscles

  • structural support for weak or injured areas including joints
